Tired of managing your farm, your frontier, your city, and even your aquarium? Well, then get ready to build a castle and kingdom, because Zynga has just announced its newest game for Facebook, CastleVille. The release date for the game has not been announced yet, but it was recently unveiled during an event held at Zynga’s HQ in San Francisco. In many ways, CastleVille will be just like its predecessors but in a fantasy setting. But there’s more to it, and it will deliver a grander scale of gameplay and delight new players and old with its scope.
Although little has been revealed so far about the game, we do know a few important things about CastleVille. It all takes place in a fantasy medieval setting, almost straight out of a book of fairy-tales. The storyline is front and center, and it is an integral part of the experience. CastleVille will introduce the concepts of crafting and trading to the world of the Ville games. You will be able to assemble your own items from raw materials and either utilize them for your own purposes or trade them with your friends and neighbors. Combat will be part of the game as well, and there are pleny of beasts to overcome outside the safe borders of your happy kingdon. The game has more personalized storytelling; players explore the world around them. You meet characters and make them happy and unlock new characters as you progress. Think of your kingdom in CastleVille as the center of happiness. As you expand your borders, you’ll defeat the forces of gloom that are keeping people unhappy.
CastleVille will feature many different characters that you interact with in the game. One such character is known as Antonio the Woodsman and one of the others is is Tom, who is an aging knight with a kind heart and a thick Scottish accent. Another main character is the lovely Giselle, a beautiful princess with an equally lovely singing voice. In earlier games on Facebook, these computer-controlled characters have been mostly shallow and functional in nature. In CastleVille, interacting with the different characters will be an integral part of the game.
The game will also be highly social. Friends will be able to assist in building and decorating your castle, and you’ll be able to show off your progress. The ability to trade and swap items is a huge part of the game. CastleVille will also feature a crafting system where you can combine materials to make items, such as potions, that you can use to improve your success in the game. You’ll also call upon your friends to fight beasts and monsters in your kingdom.
CastleVille is said to adapt to the decisions you make and the characters you meet throughout the game. Self-expression, storytelling and the narrative will all be a key aspect of the game. And last but not least, the art and music will be unlike anything seen before. This is the first social game with a score recorded by a 75-piece orchestra, and even features a choir.
If you’ve been bored with all the copycat games on Facebook as of late, get ready for a new and wonderful adventure with CastleVille.
